UP TO £100,000 INVESTMENT
1965 Mk1 Lotus Cortina Type III Aero
For the up to £100,000 class where 94% of the sales volume was in 2023, EMM London is displaying a meticulously nut and bolt restored 1965 Mk1 Lotus Cortina, Type III Aero. Whilst we have seen certain cars trade into the hundreds of throusands, these have been cars with racing pedigrees, or having won championships with the likes of Jim Clarke or Sir John Whitmore at the wheel.
Prices peaked around the early/mid part of 2018 where a car at auction sold for £191,900, but it had been campaigned as a works entry, with Clark, Whitmore and Sears all having raced the car.
More recently, average cars have been publicly auctioned and sold around the £60-£70,000 mark, despite not being technically correct, or had crucial parts missing. The most value and best future appreciation potential is in a factory matching car that has recently undergone a restoration using modern technologies and techniques.
The car on the EMM London stand is a nut and bolt restored original Mk1. From new this car was optioned with aluminium bonnet, doors and boot. Whilst standard on the earlier cars, in 1965 it became a cost option, but ctrimmed down the weight dramatically, improving the overall performance.
During the lengthy restoration process of this car, the body was dipped, then electrophertic coated to prevent any future corrosion. The floors and many panels were replaced using quality original Ford parts . The restoration was aslo fully documented and comprehensivley photographed.
Whilst stripped, the 1.6 Lotus engine was rebuilt to a “fast road” specification with lightened and balanced crank, flywheel, piston and rods, a skimmed, polished and ported head with enlarged valves. It is said to produce c140bhp according to the dyno sheets up from 110bhp in standard form standard. The torque is very impressive, and revs with ease.
INVESTMENT VIEW: Attractive entry prices currently, good, solid cars are becoming rare, low production numbers, only 171 left (DVLA) proven racing pedigree, simplistic ownership and a large enthuiastic fan following of “fast Fords” will secure the Mk1 Lotus Cortina as a collectable classic for years to come.

2016 MCLAREN 675 LT SPIDER MSO CARBON SERIES
|
|
For the £100,000 to £1,000,000 class EMM London is delighted to be displaying a 1 of just 25 ever built, UK supplied RHD, 2016 McLaren 675 LT Spider MSO Carbon Series.
Originally inspired by the McLaren P1 with the exposed carbon body displayed at the 2016 Geneva Motorshow, McLaren Automotive instructed MSO to create a special variant to the popular driver’s car, the 675 LT. What they delivered was astonishing. An instant collector car with 40 % more carbon, a deep and glossy exposed carbon with the bodywork painstakingly matched so the carbon weave continues perfectly across the whole car in almost a seamless wave. These were then only sold to special customers of the firm and remain a car collector’s favourite.
This car is an exremeley rare model in the UK with as few as 5 or 6 built for the RHD UK market. Just seeing one is an event in itself.
If rarity is a key driver in any collection, the 675 LT Carbon Series ticks that box. It is rarer than both a McLaren F1 and a Ferrari 250 GTO.
The car on the EMM London stand has covered just 3,000 miles from new and boasts a number of highly desirable bespoke options including the carbon fibre internal and external packs, Papaya McLaren Orange seat trim, calipers and splitter decals, lifting system, front and rear parking sensors, soft close doors, carbon wing/air brake, lightweight alloy wheels and a Meridian full surround audio, as an example. The car has also wisely had a full body PPF from factory.
Powered by the McLaren 3.8 twin turbo V8 engine, in its lightweight carbon form will accelerate to 60mph in just 2.8 seconds, the same as a McLaren Senna, and power on to 205 mph.
INVESTMENT VIEW: Extremely limited production, just 25 units world-wide, rarely sold, invitation only buyers from McLaren’s black book, as few as 5 RHD examples, last of the Ron Dennis quality build cars, handcrafted over many hundred of hours each panel bespoke to the chassis, no retrofitting options. Already ahead of their list price, a future collector classic for sure.

2021 FERRARI MONZA SP2 ATELIER
|
For the over £1,000,000 investment class, EMM London is thrilled to be diaplying the evocative, striking and highly-collectable Ferrari Monza SP2.
One of the most iconic future classic Ferraris ever built, inspired by Ferrari's rich heritage of racers. As part of the uber-exclusive Icona range these car were offered to only the very top of the loyal Ferrari client list. With just 499 examples built world-wide, and an unoffical 41 cars sold in the UK, just seeing one of these cars could be considered something of a miracle, so we are thrilled to have one on our stand at Concours of Elegance this year.
The SP (Special Project) is no exaggeration; these cars are special. From almost any angle the inspiration of the racers that once entered into gruelling races such as the Mille Miglia or Tour de France are perfectly clear. Ferrari collector icons such as the 750 & 860 Monza, 250 TR and 166MM were all part of the inspiration that designer Flavio Manzoni gorged himself on when designing the stunning SP1 and SP2.
All 499 cars are powered by the 799bhp 6.5 litre Ferrari V12 engine, which delivers its biggest punch at an astonishing 8,500rpm. At the time of launch in 2019 ,this was the most powerful factory V12 ever produced by Ferrari, until the birth of the 812 Competizione in 2022 delivering 820bhp.
The chassis is very loosely based on the 812, but thanks to carbon fibre composite body panels using the same production techniques as the Ferrari F1 team, the Monza weighs in at just 1500/1520kg SP1/SP2 offering blisteringly fast performance.
The car displayed on the EMM London stand is an Atelier spec car with every option box having been ticked, and is one of the highest spec Monzas made. To add, it has only covered 35 delivery miles from new.
INVESTMENT VIEW:A perfect combination of modern aesthetic and timeless style underpinned by the best Ferrari offer, the 6.5 V12 powerplant. Offered only to exclusive Ferrari royalty by invitation, most are in collections, rarely available for sale. Already trading well ahead of their list price, demand remains strong. New LaFerrari replacement is rumoured to be V6 hybrid, which shines a bright light on Icona series V12s such as the SP1, SP2 and SP3. A true collector masterpiece.
